The name Lucky Ladies comes from my years in the casino industry, where “Lucky Ladies” is the nickname for the Queens. These days, my Queens aren’t on cards—they’re at home and by my side. My wife and our five daughters are the inspiration behind everything we do.
In our family, the Queens are not just of hearts and diamonds—but of beef, poultry, seafood, and pork. Our youngest, Mandy, is the wildcard—our joyful little joker. And my wife? She’s the Queen of Hearts.
This is our family business. We compete together in BBQ competitions, and even our kids compete in youth BBQ cook-offs. What started as backyard cooking has become a full-on mission: to feed people well, serve with joy, and bring people together through food.
Like Anthony Bourdain once said, “Barbecue may not be the answer to world peace, but it’s a start in the right direction.”
We believe the same—and we root it in Mark 7, where Jesus reminds us that what truly defiles a person isn’t what goes in their mouth, but what comes out of their heart.
